Quick Share
Use Quick Share to write a single image from the node you are looking at, either a whole panorama carrying the metadata social networks need or a plain photo of the current view.
Quick Share writes a single image of the node you’re viewing, ready to post on a social platform. Click Quick Share in the Toolbar, or choose Tools > Quick Share. The dialog asks what kind of image you want and where it should go, then Create writes the image and shows it in the Finder (macOS) or File Explorer (Windows).
Quick Share works with panoramas, video panoramas, and flat images. For a video panorama, the frame currently shown in the Viewer is used. 3D model nodes aren’t supported.
Panoramic Image or Regular Image
The two buttons at the top choose what is written. Panoramic Image is the default.

Panoramic Image exports the whole panorama as an equirectangular image, with the metadata that platforms supporting 360° photos use to show it as one. The metadata includes the node’s User Data, such as title, description, author, copyright, and GPS position, and its default view as the initial view. The panorama is centered on the default view and leveled, and if viewing limits have been set, the image is cropped to them. Because platforms only accept a panoramic image up to a certain size, the image is no wider than the maximum width set under Images in the Settings (16,000 pixels by default).

Regular Image exports the view you’re currently looking at as a plain image, with the pan, tilt, field of view, and projection of the Viewer. No metadata is written, because the result is an ordinary photo.
If the current node is a flat image rather than a panorama, Panoramic Image is unavailable and a regular image is written.
Save to
The folder the image is written to. It defaults to a share subfolder of the
project folder.
Whether the folder is remembered as a relative or an absolute one is decided for you. A folder inside the project folder, or one next to it, is kept relative to the project, so it follows whichever project you have open. A folder further away is remembered as an absolute path and stays the same for every project.
Because a relative folder is resolved against the project folder, the project has to have been saved before one can be used. If it hasn’t, Quick Share says so and writes nothing; either save the project or pick a folder of your own.
The button beside the folder browser restores the default share folder. It’s
only available while another folder is set.
Format and Format Settings
Format picks the image file format. JPEG is the default. Format Settings underneath shows the settings of the chosen format:
- Quality – For JPEG, WebP, and JPEG XL, from 1 to 100. The default is 90.
- Effort – For JPEG XL, from 1 (low) to 10 (high). The default is 7.
- Compression – For TIFF: none, ZIP, JPEG, WebP, or JPEG XL.
- Organization – For uncompressed or ZIP-compressed TIFF, select Strip to write a striped instead of a tiled TIFF.
- Transparency – For WebP, JPEG XL, and TIFF, select No alpha channel to leave the alpha channel out.
Formats without any settings, such as PNG, show nothing here.
Aspect Ratio
Only for a Regular Image. The aspect ratio of the exported image.
Current Frame Overlay is chosen by default. It follows the Frame Overlay of the Viewer rather than a fixed ratio, so the image comes out framed the way the overlay showed it. The overlay is read each time you export, so changing it changes the next image without you having to come back here. While the overlay is set to None, a 4 : 3 image is written.
Underneath it are the fixed aspect ratios set up under Frame Overlays in the Settings. Choose one of those to export at that ratio whatever the Viewer is showing. If a ratio you chose earlier has been removed from the Settings, Quick Share goes back to Current Frame Overlay.
Resolution
Only for a Regular Image.

Auto uses the best resolution the current view can deliver, worked out from the resolution of the input panorama or video. This is the default.

Long Edge lets you set the pixel count of the longer edge yourself, from 16 to 32,768 pixels (4,096 by default). The shorter edge follows from the aspect ratio.
Skip this dialog
Select this to have the Quick Share button write an image straight away with the settings you have made, without showing the dialog first. In this mode the folder isn’t shown afterwards either, so sharing a view stays a single click. The option takes effect when you close the dialog with Create or Save Settings.
While the dialog is skipped, the Quick Share button in the Toolbar shows a small arrow. To reach the dialog again, click and hold the button and choose Quick Share Settings…, or choose Tools > Quick Share Settings….
File Names
Images are named after the input file of the current node with _share
appended. If that name is taken, a number is appended as well, so an existing
image is never overwritten.
Save Settings
Save Settings keeps the settings of the dialog and closes it without writing an image. Create writes the image, and Cancel discards any change you made.
