proxy ID

A proxy ID links hotspots, or objects in a 3D model, to skin elements, so that the skin element's actions run when the hotspot or object is clicked or hovered.

A proxy ID links hotspots to skin elements and their actions. Enter it in the Proxy ID field in the Advanced properties of a skin element in the Skin Editor. Earlier versions of Pano2VR called this field Hotspot Proxy ID.

When a mouse event happens on a hotspot whose ID matches the proxy ID, the skin element runs its actions for the same event:

  • Mouse Click
  • Mouse Enter
  • Mouse Double-click
  • Mouse Leave
  • Mouse Hover

The following Logic Block Triggers are also relayed from the hotspot:

  • Mouse Over
  • Mouse Over Parent Logic Blocks

In a 3D model node, the proxy ID can also be the name of an object in the model. Clicking, double-clicking, entering, or leaving that object then runs the skin element’s Mouse Click, Mouse Double-click, Mouse Enter, and Mouse Leave actions.

A proxy ID can take these forms:

  • An ID, such as Poly1, matches the hotspot or model object with exactly that ID or name.
  • A regular expression starting with # matches several at once. For example, #Poly matches every hotspot whose ID contains Poly.
  • A node ID in curly brackets, such as {node2}, matches the hotspots that link to that node.
  • An asterisk, *, matches every hotspot and every model object.
