Project Search
Search the entire project for text, from user data, hotspots, and media file names to project settings and the skins of your web outputs, and replace it in one step.
Choose Edit > Find in Project (Command-F on macOS, Ctrl+F on Windows), or click the magnifying glass in the Toolbar, to open the Search Project window. Type in the search field to search the whole project for text. Results appear as you type, once the search term is at least three characters long.
The window stays on top and doesn’t block the rest of Pano2VR, so you can work through the results one by one. It remembers its position and size, and when you open it again it repeats your last search. Opening or starting another project clears the search.
What Is Searched

Nodes – Node IDs, input file names (including cube faces, videos, alternative videos, 3D model files and their optimized, mobile, and preview versions), the node’s background sound, and every User Data field, including custom properties.

Panorama elements – Element IDs, hotspot titles, descriptions, URLs, targets, skin IDs, and custom properties, the custom image of point hotspots, patch and pinned media file names (including alternative, preview, mask, and subtitle files), web element content, map titles and files, animation clip titles, and camera point titles.

Project User Data – The project-wide fields: title, description, author, copyright, comment, publish URL, custom preview, and the background sound files.

Skins – The skins of the project’s Web outputs, including VR skins. If the search term is found anywhere in a skin, the skin is listed as a result. Skins are only searched when the scope is Everywhere.
Refining the Search
Scope – The first drop-down limits the search:
- Everywhere – Nodes, panorama elements, Project User Data, and skins. This is the default.
- Input – Node IDs and input file names, including the node’s background sound.
- User Data – Node IDs, the User Data of the nodes, and the Project User Data.
- Panorama Elements – Only the panorama elements.
Element type – The second drop-down limits element results to one type: All, Patches, Point Hotspots, Poly Hotspots, Sounds, Images, Videos, Web Elements, Lens Flare, Map, Animation Clip, or Camera Points. It only filters element results, and it’s unavailable when the scope is Input or User Data. With a type chosen, a search term shorter than three characters lists all elements of that type, which is a quick way to get an overview.
Exact Match – Only finds fields whose whole text matches the search term. The search is never case sensitive.
Jumping to a Result
Results are grouped by the node or element they belong to. Click a result to jump to it:

A node result selects the node and shows it in the Viewer.

An element result opens its node and centers the element in the Viewer.

A map result opens the Tour Map.

A Project User Data result opens the project panel in Properties.

A skin result opens the skin in the Skin Editor and continues the search there with the same term and the same Exact Match setting. The Search Project window closes.
Double-click a result to jump to it and close the search window at the same time.
A search with a very common term can find hundreds of matches. After 200 result rows the list stops and shows how many more matches were found; type a longer search term to narrow the list down.
Replace
Click the arrow button next to the search field to reveal the Replace field. Every result that can be edited gets a checkbox, selected by default, so you can deselect single matches before you click Replace. The search term is replaced wherever it occurs in each selected field, regardless of case. Leave the Replace field empty to delete the search term from those fields. All changes are made in one step, which you can undo as one action.
Some results can’t be replaced here and have no checkbox: node IDs, the node’s background sound, the GPS position and capture date of a node, and skin results. To replace text in a skin, use the search inside the Skin Editor, which can also rename skin elements and variables.
Replacing across file names is handy after moving or renaming media folders: search for the old folder name, check the file name results, and replace it with the new name in one go.
