Input Formats
Below is a list of all file formats that Pano2VR supports as input image.
These are the file formats you can add to a project as nodes, through the Toolbar’s Input button, the Project Wizard, or by dragging files into Pano2VR.
Images
Supported formats for input images (panoramas and flat images):
| Format | Extensions | Color Depth | Comment |
|---|---|---|---|
| JPEG | .jpg, .jpeg | 8 bit | |
| PNG | .png | 8 and 16 bit | |
| TIFF | .tif, .tiff, .btf | 8 bit, 16 bit, 32 bit (float) | Uncompressed, LZW, ZIP, PackBits, JPEG, WebP, or JPEG XL compressed; BigTIFF supported; planar files are not supported |
| Photoshop | .psd, .psb | Save with Maximize Compatibility | |
| OpenEXR | .exr | half float, float | |
| Radiance HDR | .hdr | float | |
| Kolor Raw | .kro | 8 bit, 16 bit, 32 bit (float) | |
| WebP | .webp | ||
| JPEG XL | .jxl |
Images with an embedded color profile (ICC profile) are read with that profile; images without one are treated as sRGB. Which color profile the output uses is set per project, under Output Profile in the project settings.
Videos
Video files are added as video panoramas:
| Format | Extensions |
|---|---|
| MPEG-4 | .mp4, .m4v |
| QuickTime | .mov |
| WebM | .webm |
| MPEG | .mpg, .mpeg |
| AVI | .avi |
Pano2VR plays and converts videos with your operating system’s built-in codecs, so which codecs inside these files work depends on your system.
3D Models
Pano2VR supports the following 3D model and Gaussian splat formats:
| Format | Extensions | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| glTF | .glb, .gltf | 3D Mesh | GL Transmission Format, binary (GLB) or text (glTF) |
| 3D Tiles | .json | 3D Mesh | A 3D Tiles tileset |
| PLY | .ply | Gaussian Splat | Polygon file format with Gaussian splats |
| SPLAT | .splat | Gaussian Splat | Splat file format |
| KSPLAT | .ksplat | Gaussian Splat | Compressed splat format |
| SPZ | .spz | Gaussian Splat | Compressed splat format |
| SOG | .sog | Gaussian Splat | Compressed splat format |
| RAD | .rad | Gaussian Splat | Optimized splat format, also created by Pano2VR |
See 3D Model for the options of 3D model nodes.
