Using the Measure Tool Component
Add the Measure Tool component to a skin to let viewers measure distances and areas directly in the exported tour.
The Measure Tool is a built-in component that lets viewers measure distances and areas directly in the exported tour. It works in 3D model nodes and in panoramas that are positioned within a 3D model using a Camera Point.
Add the Measure Tool

Open the Skin Editor with your skin.

Open the Components Toolbox and go to the Misc category.

Right-click the Measure Tool component and choose Add Component to Skin.

Save the skin and generate the output.
The component adds a measure button to the upper left corner of the skin. The button only shows where measuring is possible: in a 3D model node, and in a panorama that is placed in a 3D model with a Camera Point. It also hides while the skin is hidden.
In the output, click the button to start a measurement and click in the view to place the points. When the measurement is complete, the result stays on screen. Click the button again to clear the result and turn the tool off; to measure again, click it once more. Changing to another node cancels a measurement that isn’t finished yet.
Lengths are shown in meters (m) and areas in square meters (m²), with three decimals below 10 and two from 10 upward.
Options
Select the measure_tool_code element in the Tree to configure the tool in its Code Element Custom Properties panel:

Style – The button style. Choose the style of one of the built-in skins (Feather Orb, Material Dart, Neto, Quaranta) or Auto. Auto reads the
gg_skinstylevariable of the skin: in the Feather Orb, Material Dart, and Neto skins the button takes their style, and in every other skin, including your own, it uses the Quaranta style. -
Mode – How measurements are taken:

Combined (the default) – Click to place points; each segment shows its length. Click the first point again to close the outline and also get the enclosed area; this needs at least three points. Press Esc to finish an open outline with the segment lengths only.

Line – Measure the distance between two points. Press Esc to cancel.

Multi-line – Place any number of points. Finish the measurement with a double-click, which also places the last point, or press Esc. It needs at least two points.

Rectangle – Click three corners to measure a rectangular area. Press Esc to cancel.

The remaining properties set the line and point colors (Color, Point Color) and sizes (Point Radius, Line Width) and the appearance of the measurement labels (Label Color, Label Background, Label Background (Area), Label Font, Label Padding).
Measuring in panoramas
Measurements are taken from the geometry of a 3D model. In a regular panorama node, the tool therefore only works when the panorama is correctly positioned within a 3D model of the tour using a Camera Point.
