Pano2VR In the Wild | Harzadrenalin 360º

To start 2026, we’d like to share a project that came across our screens quite a while ago, and I am excited to finally share it and showcase it!

Herzadrenalin 360º is a project by CC INTERACTIVE that showcases creative, professional production and, I hope, inspires everyone in the interactive tour business. What struck us was the professionally produced videos that explained the rides and experiences. Navigation is clear and simple throughout the tour, and the interface is clean and easy to read.

About Harzadrenalin 360º

Harzdrenalin (in the heart of Germany’s Harz Mountains) operates one of the country’s most famous adventure areas that includes a giant suspension bridge, a Gigaswing freefall pendulum, a Mega Zipline, and many other attractions. It’s all about thrill, courage, and trust. CC Interactive explained that the same feeling was meant to come alive in this new virtual 360° tour created with Pano2VR.

Project Concept

The goal was to give visitors an authentic taste of Harzdrenalin’s atmosphere even before they arrive. Instead of a static, text-heavy presentation, the result is an interactive, multimedia experience where real Harzdrenalin team members guide viewers through their world.

And this is where I think the project excels. The panoramas and videos are masterfully produced and really draw you into the space. Not only that, you have a good idea of how the park functions and what to expect on each ride.

The area stretches over 1.5 kilometers, so the tour was built in three layers:
1. An aerial layer using drone panoramas for overall orientation.
2. A ground layer with a classic 360° walking tour.
3. A video layer featuring short, authentic clips that bring each location to life.

Technical Implementation

For the 360° panoramas, the team used a full-frame Sony camera mounted on a Nodal Ninja robotic head and stitched in PTGui to achieve a natural HDR look with a wide dynamic range. The aerial panoramas were captured using a DJI drone in panorama mode.

A key focus was navigation: every viewpoint is logically connected – with no dead-end hotspots. A central toggle button links the ground and aerial views, ensuring users don’t lose orientation.

The video integration became the project’s centerpiece. All clips were produced specifically for this tour, using interviews, a handheld reportage camera, and additional B-roll, then edited and color-graded in DaVinci Resolve.

The project uses a unique approach to display videos across all screens in full-screen mode by scaling them. And here’s a tip! To achieve the scaling used in this project, you can add this bit of CSS to the Video Element’s CSS Styles Inner Element: object-fit: cover; overflow: hidden;  object-position: center top;.

Additionally, all data is hosted directly on the client’s server, without using external platforms such as YouTube.

Usability was another priority. Zoom functions were deliberately disabled, hotspots were kept clear, and the tour was tested repeatedly with users from different age groups. The result is a technically strong yet intuitive experience that feels natural to navigate.

Production Process

We don’t hear a lot about timelines and the production process. I think it’s an interesting facit of building a virtual tour to know how quickly or slowly production can be. Thanks to Christo for providing this information.

The planning phase began in winter with plenty of time for concept development, testing, and story planning. Filming started in early summer, once the area was in full green. One day was dedicated to drone panoramas, another to ground-level 360° shots captured in the soft morning light. Video shoots followed in several stages: first interviews with the Harzdrenalin team, then B-roll sequences to visually enrich the storytelling.

Post-production took about a week, followed by detailed skin development for both desktop and mobile layouts. Thanks to thorough preparation and close collaboration with Harzdrenalin, only minimal revisions were needed and the final result worked perfectly.

Storytelling & User Experience

This tour is a good example of using VR to create a connection with visitors before they even arrive. Putting the extra effort in to create well-produced videos is definitely worth it. I hope that some find this project inspiring and helpful. Thanks to CC INTERACTIVE for sharing!
