If you haven’t heard already, Aaron Spence of Panedia, has been involved in a successful underwater survey project called the Catlin Global Reef Record. This amazing project aims to document and study the world’s coral reefs.
Why is it so amazing? Isn’t it obvious? Underwater panoramas! And over 40,000 of them! Okay, the real star of the show here is the data that is collected and analyzed to help researchers and scientists gather detailed information about the reefs through this technology.
Aaron introduced us to the project at the NYC 2012 IVRPA meeting. And that was just the beginning…
