Can't get URL hotspots to work in 7.0.5

I can't seem to get any URLs to load via the standard URL hotspot tool -- keep getting the "[site name] refused to connect." in the pop up. I saw some threads that indicated that some domains restrict access via iframes but I can't get *anything* to load.

I went back to my first test project from a few months ago which had a functioning URL hotspot and now when I output I get the same "refused to connect." Is this some sort of issue with 7.0.5?

Hi,
Please find a test project attached.
It has two URL hotspots, one in node1 and one in node2.
If the project does not work for you then please check that Pano2VR has internet access.
Open Pano2VR, do you see the news feed on the welcome screen?
Once open if you select the Tour Map do you see a map?
Also, check if your firewall is blocking Pano2VR's access to the web, or do you have any anti-virus software blocking it.
Can't think of anything else for now.
Regards,

Thanks Hopki,

Oddly enough, when I was testing to see if any sites would work I *did* get wikipedia to load with the URL hotspot, but nothing else. Those two URL hotspots in your test do load properly then for me but when I tried to change one of them to something besides wikipedia I get the "refuse to connect."

I pushed my first initial testing of pano2vr to the cloud months ago -- so I haven't touched that since -- and the URL doesn't load in that anymore. I sent to my wife to have her test from home to see if something on my end with firewall but she also can't see it.

This is that small test:
https://vtour.cloud/3v8cby/m7wgbj6m/

(The URL hotspot is in the "Computer Room" node)

To answer your other questions, I do see the news feed on the welcome screen. I do see the Tour Map when I select it.

I also downloaded 7.0.4 to see if it worked via outputting from that, but doesn't make a difference.

[MID-POST UPDATE]

I'm on Chrome on Mac, so tested to see if Safari behaved differently (it did not), BUT Firefox did give this info which would seem to indicate that at least for any pages at my institution, it is blocking any loading in an iframe. Weird that every other site I tested behave the same way (except for wikipedia).

I guess I can make a graphic screenshot for any site hotspots and then have that image hot spot open in a new browser window to that URL?

Hi BostonRavi,
The website is blocking it from opening in an iframe:

You need to check the other websites you are using, here I used the web browsers error console.
I use Wikipedia as this is known to allow embedding so a good test
If you're not sure how to do this, please add the URLs you are trying to open so we can check the sites.

Hi Hopki,

I tried a bunch of sites and they all pretty much delivered that same error message in the developer tool while using chrome:

Refused to display [URL] in a frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'sameorigin'.

My intended URL for my tour is:
https://www.bc.edu/content/bc-web/schoo ... earch.html

which gave me that error.

Tried a range of other sites too but none worked:
https://ggnome.com/
https://www.mfa.org/
https://www.bbc.com/news/in_pictures
https://www.whitehouse.gov/
https://www.amazon.com/

I did find a couple of sites that did work:
https://www.wgbh.org/ (my previous place of employment)
https://www.liteleek.com/ (my wife's photo site)

but obviously I would need the sites intended to load.

I saw some other error messages about cookies and samesite attributes ("Indicate whether a cookie is intended to be set in a cross-site context by specifying its SameSite attribute") but I didn't know if that was an avenue to explore via javascript.

Thanks
