I recently found out a custom skin file had been saved over by one without the changes I had made and am now missing the file I had put a lot of effort into doing, I want to know if there is anyway I can get the skin file de-compiled back into an editable format that would allow me to edit the file again in the skin editor??

Hi,
This is not to say you can not but I have not had much success with SWF decompilers.
The time you mess around in trying to do this it might be quicker to just rebuild the skin. Making backups of skins is a must as you can spend a lot of time developing them.

Personally I have a library of skins each with its own function, so some with drop down menus, some with different types of popups etc. So when I need to build a skin I can just copy the features I require my new skin to have, then if need be custom the artwork from there.
Bit late now but I hope it helps.

Hopki
