HMD Output for HTC Vive

I appreciate there isn't a specific output or compatibility with a Vive setup but I can't seem to find a simple answer to my problem. I haver a client who has a Vive (same as us) and wants to view the panotour using this kit.

There must surely be a simple workflow to make this happen? Anyone got any pointers. I can out put to VR using a skin no problem for Gear VR etc but what needs to happen then to work on a Vive?

I don't know the Vive, does it not have a web browser?
If so why not open an output in the browser.

The vive does have a browser but simply opening a tour in it doesn't work - you can see the pano but as a flat image and not immersive. It all works easily on a mobile platform in a headset such as a GearVR (with an add-on) and i'm struggling to get the same on a top end headset - seems bizarre that its so difficult.
