Hi all,
I want to know if there is a way, to make animated hotspots, using a single PNG file, like you can use in Krpano?
Because I want to make a file, that I can use in both, Flash and HTML5 users.
Thanks,
Animated hotspots

HI,
Only problem wit animated png files is very few browsers support it, with testes Safari and Chrome don't.
What you can do is use a SWF and a animated GIFF then use the external image/SWF loader to display them in Flash and HTML5.
Means two skin one for Flash and one for HTML5 but it does men the animations will be seen.
Use this link to test your browser: http://people.mozilla.com/~dolske/apng/demo.html

Thanks for your quick reply Hopki,
I´m pretty new with Pano2VR, what do you mean about using external image/SWF loader? How does this work?
I made some test creating a Gif from a SWF and was a little slow, I have to check again my setup.

Hi,
In the skin editor you will find a tool that looks like the Planet Earth.
Add this to the skin and size it to match the SWF or GIFF.
Then enter the path to the SWF or GIFF.

What is currently the best way to produce animated hotspots for Pano2VR ? Is it still to produce a gif and a swf? I use Panotour Pro too which uses animated hotspots, I've not come across any browser issues yet so I'm assuming browsers have improved since this subject was last discussed?
I can produce an animated Giff, but have no idea how to make a swf - assume I would need a copy of adobe flash?
Pete

Hi Pete,
Yes for animations its still Giff for HTML5 and SWF for Flash. You can also use SVG with some animation but only for HTML5.
As you can produce animated Giff's Google Giff to SWF converters, I just tried and many was found. Have not used any of them but probably cheaper then getting Flash and probably less of a learning curve to use.
