Hello All
I have a tour for testing on iPad-android tablets
anybody willing to contribute comments much appreciated
http://hellaspanorama.gr/test/1/ flash version (android Tablets)
http://hellaspanorama.gr/test/1/html5.html HTML5 version (iPad and Android Tablets)
http://hellaspanorama.gr/test/1/zip.zip Ziped HTML5 version for use with Good Reader(iPad) and (any equivalent for Android Tablets?)
feedback so far:
Flash on Android plays ok but slow (as long as autorotate is off, autorotate on makes it unresponsive)
HTML5 on android 2.3 plays ok on default browser.
minimum resolution 800x600, 7"-11"
Panoramas are old, made 3 years ago
thus the low resolution, thus quality is
not of outmost importance, as functionality is.
NOT for phones (as floorplan will cover the screen, buttons too small)
Thanks,
Minos
iPad - android Tablet test online-offline
Hi, I tested the HTML 5 on the iPad 1 and it works great, I really like the map that pops out, is this a custom skin? I don't know what good reader is but will have a look..
I am building a tour of my own and figuring out which platforms/browsers to use for Flash or HTML5.

Thanks for feedback Stuart
Does also autorotate work fine?
Good reader is a PDF reader for ipad
but it has been mentioned in the forum here
that it opens .html files, too and displays
pano2vr in HTML5 nicelly.
Here the link: http://tinyurl.com/y2v9h3g
I wait for your test.
Yea it is a custom skin, easily made with pano2vr.
I m sure it can be done better. Make sure is simplified
for HTML5 performance eg no alpha transparencies,
no mouse over events, etc,
and map scales from 0 to 1 and back.
Does Not hide and show.
i uploaded the skin here if that is of any help to you

Any other online - offline tests?

Tested on iPad2 - looks good - did have some issue with map in Reception area - they would not always link.
I also am working on win/anroid/iOS versions.. have most problems with iOS hotspots on iPad not always working but the panos look nice on iPad.

I can see there is a delay on HTML5 since pressing a hotspot till next pano starts loading, and since there is no "pressed" state it may be confusing
having to wait. Are you referring to this or something else? Maybe hotspots in reception area too close to each other? Or simply sometimes you press well
a hotspot and panorama wont load, for no obvious reason?

Tried HTML5 + WebApp Viewer http://tinyurl.com/78drrt3 android app and seems to open the html5 offline version fine,
BUT I got reports that after the 6th-8th panorama, it stops loading new ones as if getting out of memory.
The test was from an android 2.3 phone though, could someone try it extensively on android tablet and ipad online and offline
and report if he gets memory issues? Is it logical to have memory limits in an HTML5 tour with many panoramas,
and would linking the hotspots to new html pages instead refresh the memory?
