Hi Guys,
why are the Panos displayed on iOS Devices so unsharp and blurry? The Flash Versions are sharp, crisp and clear.
If I give KRPano a try the Results are very good, an even better than the Results from pano2vr. I've already changed the Interpolation Filter, but still the KRPano Results out of the Box are better. Quite Frustrating...

So, here we go:
Both Views are based on the same Image!
Pano2VR (only HTML5!)
KRPano
The KRPano output sharp to the edges an runs very smooth.

Using safari 5.1.7 viewing http://www.schmuttermaier.com/ the image HTML5 golden mirror frames zoomed in appears to be relative sharpened but still abit fuzzed.

Usine IE 9 I get a white screen. Can not determine the HTML5 sharpness.
Using Mozilla Firefox 16.02 the HTML5 image appears full zoomed in appears to be same sharpness as Safari 5.1.7
Using Chrome 23.0 the HTML 5 image appears full zoomed in appears to be same sharpness as Safari 5.1.7

And yes, I have seen sharper images. But your images are really great.. wish I could get into such prestigious locations. Great job.

And yes, KRPano is super sharp. But only you can verify the original image resolution and sharpness.

Hi Sebastian

I checked your panos
So, here we go:

Pano2VR (only HTML5!)
KRPano
The KRPano output sharp to the edges an runs very smooth.
.

I used my iPad3 with a nice App called TabletShare. This App displays on the same iPad screen two windows with two web views, side by side. It is therefore quite easy to compare two images.
From what I can see the quality of the two images is equivalent, and for me is a little sharper Pano2VR.

You can make the test by yourself. Just download the app.
Be careful. There are has some problems in displaying two 360 images in the same browser (it seems a reported problem of Pano2VR) but with some "back arrow" handling you can easily see the Krpano and Pano2VR images side by side of the same size and same zoom level. See the result.

Anyway, what are your setting for HTML5?

Ok.. I opened your pano in IE 9 [Flash] and Safari [HTML5] on PC + iPad 3 [HML5].

One thing I noticed right away was your bottom tool bar is showing an icon for FULL screen on the PC. Same view on iPad3 shows Gyro icon. Cool.

Also all 3 views are full zoom in ... max zoom in ... at different zoom in levels.

Hi,

because i find some Links to my Webpage in the Logfiles i want to update this Post. The above Link to the sample Panorama has moved, please use:

http://www.schmuttermaier.com/panoramen ... index.html

But this is only an old example, now i am very happy with the sharpness of pano2vr Output. See also this new Example:

@Sebastian

In you latest examples there is Flash enabled.

Is it not possible to get sharp results with HTML5 only ?

Hi Alan,
of course it is possible. Both, the HTLM5 and Flash Output use the same "Source"images in the pano2vr Output Folder. So it schould make no Difference if you user Flash or not.
