good afternoon,
has anyone experience with hmd-displays aside of cardboard?

PlayStation VR, htc vive, Oculus Rift u.s.o? i like to buy a system to demonstrate my customers the VR possibilitys. but in a better image quality than cardboard. in this context i have 2 Questions:

*) is there a system which is significant better than card noard (... with WOW effect ..)
*) is it with all this systems possible to play the VRtour in a browser from html site (like in cardboard)

has anyone experimented with headsets and can me tell more to this?

thanks,
best regards,
wiso

thank you hopki,

what is the best possibility to have a fixed "stand allone" hmd (kiosk) system. the best means, a blameless picture quality. actually it means for cardboard what handy has the best relationship of resolution and size.
(i am shure my iphone se isn´t the highest level)

do you have some experiences or tips?

best regards,
wiso

Hi wiso,
Good Reader is quite good.
Just make sure when your building cardboard output you set the HiDPI Switch Bias to 0.8 or even 1.0.
This will cause the higher resolution tiles to be used.
Don't do to much with Cardboard unless playing with Stereo panoramas.

i see . there is a relation between resolution and quality of panning with the cardboard.
0.8 is enough for me. good picture quality and panning is ok. with 1.0 panning is unfriendly.

what is the HiDPI Switch Bias ? (german: "schaltpunktverzerrung HiDPI " im "erweitert" menue)

thank you very much,
wiso

Hi Wiso,
HiDPI is the setting that determines at what point the next resolution it loaded on high resolution displays.
The higher the number the sooner the next level is loaded.
Example:
An iPad 2 and an iPad AIR both have the same size screen, 1024 x 768.
However the iPad AIR is retina and is twice the resolution.

Multi resolution looks at the screen size so it will serve up the same resolution for both iPads.
This means on the iPad AIR which has twice the resolution the image will look soft.

So if you set HiDPI to 0.8 what will happen is the player will detect a High resolution and use the 0.8 switch bias and serve up the next level up so will look sharper.

Please see our website for a more detailed expiration.

Hopki
