Standalone player doesn't play Videos ??

I create 3d modelled VR environments for my clients to explore interior spaces.

And I've started incorporating Video into these (eg for mimicking computer screens etc).

I can create Standalone VR environments no problem, but now that I'm adding Video, those video's don't play.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

Hi Jez,
Make sure you use the place holder $r$hu in the button that opens the video.

Hi Hopki,

The videos are self playing, they aren't waiting to be clicked on (there is no button that opens the video).

They self play as they represent computer screens that should be already playing in my 3d vr environment.

Please can you advise ?

Thank you.

Hi Jez,
So how are you doing this in the skin, using a a video element?
If so then it should just play.
When you say "my 3d vr environment", what do you mean?
Does the output work outside of your environment.

Yes, I have Video 'Elements' in place over my computer screens in my VR photo (it's a Spherical Photo created from 3D software, 3DS Max).

This Panorama VR works fine with Video no problem when I upload to a web space and experience the VR from there - the Videos play themselves automatically.

It's just when I create a Standalone Offline version for my client that then these same video elements do not play at all - in fact, they aren't even visible in the Standalone. (as if they didn't exist) - yet the video files are all there.

I've created these Standalones many times WITHOUT video - all I've done is follow the same procedures as before for this one with Video and yet the videos don't work.

Hi Jez,
What are you using to make the standalone?
Have you tried our package viewer?
We of course can not support third party software but our package viewer will work ok.

Once the package viewer is installed you can make your output into a package and all you have to do is double click the package to open it.

Hi Hopki,

That's the problem.

I was using a third party viewer (which was the way I was advised to do it by yourselves, once upon a time).

Good to see you have your own viewer - and it now works like a charm !

BTW that link on how to use it doesn't work :)

Many thanks :)

Link is working - my bad, I installed a Chrome Extension to stop a bad UK daily newspaper's insistence to force it's readers to watch videos and it was stopping this one too....

Works fine now.
