Hello,

I've made a couple of tours that I'd like to share with family and friends. Wordpress.COM does not allow me to post them (I know there is a plug-in for Worldpress,ORG, but I really don't want to manage my own website), Google's Blogger site won't accent the output folder, nor does YouTube. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am fine with having them somewhere else and then embedding them into my various, non HTML5 supported sites. And sending them the ggnome package viewer is not an option as two of the people with whom I want to share it only have work PCs and are unable to install software.

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob,

I'd take a look at Amazon Web Services Free Tier https://aws.amazon.com/.

In their words, "The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Free Tier is designed to enable you to get hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services. The AWS Free Tier includes services with a free tier available for 12 months following your AWS sign-up date, as well as additional service offers that do not automatically expire at the end of your 12 month AWS Free Tier term."

Now I have my own SSL web server but I used the Amazon Web Services to demonstrate the option for SSL hosting. Here's a panorama hosted off the Amazon Web Services https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com ... index.html

Signup is pretty straight forward but if you need more info I have a tutorial I can publish on how to sign up.

Alternatively you could use one of the many hosting/tour software options and then embed them. I would recommend Round.me as it has a wide variety of options that allow you to customise the embed (restrict to certain domains) and brand the tour for your own customers. I've put together a page that shows the output from several of these services at http://tonyredhead.com/360panoramas/wha ... -look-like

cheers

Tony,

First of all thank you. I checked out all of the sites; your information in invaluable. A couple of questions, however:

1. Can you please tell me the cameras that you used for the Ponant Boat Tour link, as you did for the Fort at Onguma?

2. If they weren't 360 cameras and instead were DSLRs or mirrorless, can you tell me please what camera/lens combination you used?

3. With respect to the Fort at Onguma, how do guests not have some wild animal walk into their bedroom at night?

I ask you the first two questions because the pictures are beautiful and the last one because I am mildy curious!

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your comments, I'm glad you found the information useful.
1. Can you please tell me the cameras that you used for the Ponant Boat Tour link, as you did for the Fort at Onguma?
The shot from the tender, as it left the ship, was done with a Freedom 360 http://freedom360.us/shop/freedom360classic/ rig with 6 x GoPro cameras on a pole.

As you can see from the image I was crouched down near the steps into the tender and you can see the shadow of the pole. After stitching there was a little retouching to remove myself. I do a lot of shooting from moving zodiacs and always use the rig to shoot. Here's a 360˚ video shot with the same rig https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYsHgYCSLCY
2. If they weren't 360 cameras and instead were DSLRs or mirrorless, can you tell me please what camera/lens combination you used?
For stable locations, like the Fort, I use a Canon 6D with a Canon 8-15mm fisheye on a Nodal Ninja M1-S w/RD10 https://shop.nodalninja.com/collections ... rd10-f8203 on a Feisol Tripod http://www.feisol.com/0823tripodsdetails-6.html
3. With respect to the Fort at Onguma, how do guests not have some wild animal walk into their bedroom at night?
If you take a look at this shot https://goo.gl/maps/aFoYhY4QDju from the bedroom you can see rolled up, heavy duty canvas, flaps that you lower and secure at night. Also the deck is a about 4 feet high. Anytime you want to go from your hut to the main building someone will always come and pick you up, there is no wandering around allowed :-)

cheers,

Tony
