Problem adding additional panorama photos

Q&A about the latest versions

I' am using this System:
Win 10, 64 Bit, Pano2VR Version: 5.2 beta3 pro 64bit, Revision: 15913/5.7.1, Build date: Apr 14 2017, 12:04:36

I cannot add additional photos, testet it on two separate Panotours. Not possible using the toolbar, or by the menu, or by just dropping the photos on the viewer. The new photo, droppen in the viewer, will replace the (correct) one on the first node.

Any hints what to do?

best regards, Klaus

PS: Besides, the new features in the version 5.2 are great, thanks!

Hi Klaus,
This sounds very odd, to check my understanding you have a Pano2VR 5 Pro project open, you have several input images in the tour browser and when you drag another one into the tour browser or viewer it does not add the panorama?
Is it possible to make a video showing this, maybe on your phone if you can't on your computer.

Hopki

Yes, Hopki, you are right.

Pano2VR is open with a tour of about 100 nodes.
Adding another pano-picture to the tourbrowser does not add a new node with the pic, but puts the added picture into the first node. There it will not be shown (only listet in the propertys) until you change the kind of pano (soryy, don't know the correct english term, working with a german version). By doing this, it will render the just imported photo into the first node.

Just checked this in an quite new project: Added the first and only pic, witch then produces the first node. Dropping another pic in the tour browser will place this second pic in the first node, replacing the first pic by the second one.
Same behavior by adding via the menu, the toolbar or by dropping a pic, but I expect these are all the same routines.
Same behavior on two different machines (using the same windows and the same Pano2VR, (one desktop pc, now cross-checked on my laptop).

Will it be helpfull to install the last stable version on my machine for testing?

Thanks for your help. And when you want ro remember me: I was one of the last visitors on your photokina floor;-)

Just installed the Version: 5.1 pro 64bit , Revision: 15722/5.7.1, Build date: Mar 14 2017, 09:50:02

Did it in a different harddisk, different folder; starts OK, shows up the correct 5.1 versions as copied above.

BUT: Same wrong behavior. Now I understand nothing, I am quite confused. Maybe the same library used by both versions?

I am now wil make a break for an hour and have to look at british snooker for a while. But I will be back with either new frustration or new ideas ;-)

Hi Klaus,
As a thought make sure your in pano viewer mode.

So when you drag in it adds the pano. Im thinking if you have another viewer mode selected it may be adding it as a pinned image or something.
Just a thought.

Ahhhhhh, I think I know.
If you have a pano selected then drag a pano onto the properties file path, see image, it will replace the pano.

However if you drag and drop into the viewer or the tour browser it should add the pano to the project.

Hello Hopki, hello folks!

Problem solved!

Just wanted to record the video about the problem. For that, I wanted to change the language to english for Hopki to better realize, what I am doing.
So I went to "Settings", changed the language and thought that it would be a good idea to check the other settings (never been there for a lot of months...) And I found under "Settings>Advanced" the checkmark at Image Preview: [checkmark] Replace image on drop
Unchecked it -> THATS IT! Now the behavior is as expected, if I drop a picture at the tour browser this will produce a new node with the dropped picture in it.
Don't know how this (wrong) checkmark can be checked on both of my machines in the same time, cause the Initial files of the programm have not be changed on the both machines manualy (they are in different houses without an current Lan). Maybe this is going along with the update from 5.1 to 5.2beta; this is the only thing I changed on both machines in the past few days. Or can this be changed by transferring one complete panotour from one machine to another?

As a resume, everything is OK, this topic can be marked as solved. Thanks Hopki, for your advice!

best regards from Klaus (now finishing up his pano project).

Hi,

Most of my workflow is single panoramas but I've been running into the same issue when I want to load another panorama. If I click "Add Panorama" in the Tour Browser window and select an equirectangular image nothing happens. If I drag an image on the main window nothing happens.

I've checked the preferences and the Image Preview: Replace image on drop is checked.

Mac OS Sierra Version 10.12.6, Pano2VR Version: 5.2.2 pro 64bit Cocoa Revision: 15983/5.7.1

Hi Tony,
Thanks for looking, but this should be deselected by default.
If you rename your plist and open with defaults it should be deselected.

I had the same problem.
If you add one panorama, it replaces the first one.
So I added a few and deleted the extra ;)

Hi Hopki,

Where would I find the plist?
