Hi

We are trying to view Panoramas created in Pano2VR on the Occulus Rift. Is this possible, even if using Nightly or Chromium?

We have copied the Stare and VR ggt files and output the files, but cannot get anything vis the Oculus Rift HMD.

The example you provided also does not work? http://ggnome.com/samples/pano2vr_5/karel/

Any advice on this, or how/when we will be able to utlise the Pano2vr with this device.

Thanks

And I can't understand how you can run virtual tour for the oculus rift ((( Nothing happens :( http://creatiff-photo.ru/vr/kvartira/vr/

The forums suggest browser type webVR firefox nightly or Chromium. But nothing came of it. Tried Virtual desktop working too, nothing failed. But there are guys in Australia http://viewport.com.au working in pano2vr and they all works great with the oculus rift

Hi MRice,
For now you can not see a Pano2VR output in the Rift.
You can export the 6 x 1VR strip to see it in the Rifts player.

Hi MRice and VirtualPlace.ru,

I've developed an Android app with Unity that shows Pano2VR tours on the Gear VR: VR Tourviewer.
It uses Oculus VR drivers so it could also work on the Rift if I build a Windows version. I don't have a Rift myself so if you have some time to test this, please send me a private message here or email to info@vrtourviewer.com and I'll make a Windows build for testing.

Has there been any development on getting the rift to play nice with pano2vr tours? The sale price of the rift is pretty tempting now so would love to know if we can view pano tours in it.

Just a bump on this one - is there anything in development for getting pano2VR working on the rift? I see 'the viewer' gets a lot of press as it has an app you can download for this. Thanks

Anyone else having issues with the TourViewer. I downloaded the APK onto my Samsung S8 but I get the error message, "There was a problem while parsing the package"?

Hi Tony,

Since the VR Tourviewer app is not available through Google Play or the Oculus Store, for installing the app you have to temporarily enable allow 'unknown sources' on your phone. Settings > Lockscreen and Security > Unknown sources > enable this. If this does not do the trick, please let me know.

If you have further questions about the VR Tourviewer app you can send email me directly at: info [at] vrtourviewer [dot] com, use the online chat on https://www.vrtourviewer.com or register on the forum there.

Note that I'm not affiliated with Garden Gnome Software, I'm just using their awesome software to build 3D tours for my clients and made the app to be able to watch them using the full quality and sensor sensitivity of the Gear VR.
