Hi,

I searched the forum and actually do not know what words to use for this issue so forgive me if this is already asked.

I'm creating virtual tours with the VR option included. That means there is a standard tour and within the tour there is a button to switch to VR mode.
I'm prepping 4 Samsung Galaxy S6 to use on fair for a customer and I experience the next phenomenon:

When clicking on a hotspot to jump to the next pano I use the set direction in the config to keep facing in the right direction. In normal mode this works perfectly but when I use the same jump in the VR-mode (cardboard.ggt) the jump is not using the direction I've set but turns 180 degrees around.

Example tour http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/Heino-Summercamp/ .... enter the building slightly to the right, when entering the direction should be to the room, in VR it turns around facing out .... is this a setting I missed or is this a bug ...

When testing this on a desktop this works as expected, it only happens on mobile phones. I'll test more devices soon.

Regards,

Arjan

Ps: Same issue on iPhone 7

Hi Arjan,
Iv moved this topic from the Object2VR from to here.
Yes this is a know bug and is in the bug tracker.
What should happen with the cardboard template is it will always use the gyro, of course.
But if True not is used it will always look the way you view in relation to north.
As an example If a door is East, you would turn to the east, activate the hotspot and the would appear in the room looking East.
This will only work if the north is set correctly in each pano.

With True North deselected then you should be able to use the target view.
At the moment this is not working, but as said is on the list the the critter extermination team to sort out.

Hopki

Sorry that was not the intention to post it there ...

So if I understand it correctly, this should not be a problem when all photos are (physically) facing north ?

Ok, thanks, I'll change the direction of my foto's to the north. That will help.

Other related question is that now I'm testing the tour on a Samsung S6 (I'm used to iPhone 6s and 7), the experience is very disappointing compared to the iPhone 6s and 7. When moving around I get shocky movements and an enormous lag that spoils the VR experience and makes me nocuous.
I know most of you are using Samsung or more general Android phones for viewing tours in VR-glasses (I think) and a lot of customers will to. But am I missing some settings in the tour or plugins on Android that makes my tours such an awful experience on a S6 ? Ok it's not the top phone around but this is also not the slowest phone and the model is not that old.
Other point I noticed is that when starting the VR tour directly, I get an javascript DOM error, I can only open a VR-tour when starting the normal tour and switching inside the skin with a button to the VR version.

Hard and software I'm using now:

Pano2vr 5.1.beta
Samsung Galaxy S6 with android 6.0.1 (new phone out of the box, bought last week)
Latest Firefox browser for Android 4.4 to watch local content on the phone
extra Firefox plugin to start tour full-screen called "Fullscreen Mobile" (default Firefox keeps a browser-bar on top) ..
ES File Explorer to copy USB content to phone
Copied the whole tour to a folder in downloads
Make firefox default browser, open tour and save link to desktop ...

Any help or hints in the right direction would be very welcome !

Arjan

I made two small videos to visualize what I'm talking about ...

This is the Samsung S6 : http://www.skyfocus.nl/pics/samsumgs6-vr.mov
This is the iPhone 7: http://www.skyfocus.nl/pics/iphone7-vr.mp4

both with local tours.

Hi Arjan,
We are aware of the problem with the gyro with Android.
The dev's are looking into it.

Hi,
Try disabling smooth interpolation under the cardboard.ggt
