hello
i am trying to create a stereopano from a 12stripe vray cubemap, by splitting it to left and right, like described here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11354&p=46689&hilit=VR+Strip#p46651
using the cardboard skin and template with stereo pairs checked, the output shows the same (first) image on both sides. did i miss something in linking or renaming the images, to get a "true" stereo output?

Hi pilzlicht,
Pano2VR does not recognise a single 12 image strip for stereo, only the 6 image strip for one side.
Open your image in Photoshop and split the image so you have two 6 images per strip.
What would be better is what ever software you are using to generate the strip, see if it can output two 6 image strips or even an two Equirectangular images.

Hopki

hello hopki
thanks for your answer, thats what i already did.
i figuered out what was the problem- i had to reset the limits in the field of view/zoom.
its working now.

but there is a big view flipping problem on my android device (LG G4, mozilla and chrome) when the starring point moves over or under the horizont too fast.
i replaced the pano2vrgyro.js with one i found here in a related post, but that doesn't help.
on iphone it runs ok without horizontal flipping and much smoother.

is there a way to prevent the flipping on my android phone? i don't want to decrease the controller sensitivity much more.

thanks
imke

Hi imke,
Try this one.
It fixed a flipping with Android and Firefox.
Not the same problem but worth a try.

hi hopki
thanks for the file, unfortunately it doesn't work for me either :( ...
since this is happening on chrome and firefox and it feels like the software rather likes all panos upsidedown, a stupid question:
could a wrong LEFT/RIGHT renaming/"treatment" cause this problem? i splitted the 12x1 cubemap stripe and named the 1. one *panoLEFT.jpg and the 2.*panoRIGHT.jpg, but i guess the VRAY cubemap actually shows the right view first (on the left side)?
sorry for this stupid idea from a VR noob, it just makes me wonder, although the stereoscopic effect works.

cheers imke

Hi,
Yeah, I was testing on all devices and as I had an iPhone 7 in my had I gave it a go.
Testing on the Galaxy S7 I do see some very odd behaviour with the left side, the right side seems ok though.
This was with Chrome and Firefox, but I found the default browser "Internet" not as bad.
I will have a words with the developers about this and if need be bug track.
However I did find deselecting smooth interpolation made a big difference and was much better than with it on.

that would be a good idea i guess

gonna give it a try.
i think force clients to use the default android internetbrowser can't be the solution :) ...
thanks
