Pop up Image problem

when I clicked opens first previous image and then the next

It looks like the external loader is not unloading.
How have you made the popup?
When you close the popup does this also close the external loader as well?
What does work well is to get the external loader to load a very small transparent png on close.
So mouse down, set value, xxx.png, external loader.
