I've built a tour of only 6 nodes, panos comprising equirec backplates with aligned / pinned video of actors, imported into Pano2VR as c. 30 second loop 360 video files.

www.360imagery.co.uk/draft/tcp-sheff-3

Seems to work fine in FF & Edge and seems to work on mobile Safari (but not tested on Safari as running WIndows 10 and I don't seem to be able to get Safari for Windows anymore).

However, doesn't work for me in Chrome. The UI loads, the background SX works, but no panos. Any ideas? There's alot of pop up windows calling video files, but I don't see that being a problem. The skin .GGSK file ended up a whopping 18Mb - so perhaps it's something to do with the skin - I dunno....

Can others test for me?

Hi Stu,
Something odd going on there mate.
All on my Mac Pro, I tried with Chrome and it was ok, tried with Safari and no images.
Tried Chrome again, no images, tried Safari again, had images but no sounds.
Be interesting to see what others get.
Regards,
Hopki

On iOS Chrome & Safari work for images and music. Safari is slow to load. On both the menu links don't work.

Must say the return to horizon makes operation difficult on a mobile device.

It could be because the XML skin file is bursting trying to load 25mb of .SVG files....

Am currently swapping out as many as I can for slimmed down PNG files....

I've disabled the "return to horizon"

I've thinned out the skin from 28Mb of SVG files down to a more respectable 6Mb of UI assets, replacing with smaller .PNG files. Doesn't crash on FF or Edge now, but still not getting images to work on Chrome:

Joby Catto shot the panos / 360 video content for me - and delivered a master .P2VR file, with all the equirec back plates, nodes, video content, etc and that works fine in Chrome (http://anti-dev.com/demo/tcp/sheffield_ ... index.html) and I haven't altered any of this - all I've done is build the skin. Any ideas?

Hi Stu,
My error console reports when I clicked your link it took 3.7 minutes to download and cache 198.8MB of files and 199 items.
Thats a bit much mate.

When it finished it all works fine but you have to wait for it to finish. Try putting a load bar in the skin so people will know its a massive project.

What is happening is all the video popups and heavy files are being preloaded. I guess your setting the path to the files in your popups.
What should happen is the video element if it has no URL then the video will be loaded when called.
If it has a URL, then the video will be pre loaded.

You know! Google Chrome eats a lot of memory :D
we have installed Cache Killer in Chrome
Automatically clear your browser cache before loading a page. Can be enabled/disabled with a single mouse click.
it is running nicely here on a 250mbs connection
but my i Phone are crashing
how big are the images in Megapixel ?
and how much overlap do the tiles have ?
i see white lines horizontal and vertical ?
