Hi,

I have created a project with Pano, still and video images. All works fine, whilst using PANO2VR and GGPKG viewer.
Unfortunately my clients cannot install software to their computers without a very long vetting and scrutinising from their respective IT Departments. This takes years!!!! GGPKG is not an option.

I normally generate an output and then utilise the NWIS.IO to provide a Desktop Application. The generated Output is copied and pasted in to the folder.
On clicking the NW file, the project loads.
All Pano and still images load with preview thumbnails and works perfectly.

When I hover above the video icon, the preview thumbnail appears.
However, when I double click, the video file starts to load.
An "X" appears in the top right corner along with a rotating white spiral in the centre of the screen as though the video file is loading.
No video plays.
Clicking on the "X" closes the attempt.

I am at a loss to play the video on an alternate machine, that does not have Pano2VR or GGPKG viewer installed.

I don't think it's a Skin issue as the video plays correctly on my machine and an HTML output and through any machine which has GGPKG viewer installed.

Have I done something wrong in the "package.json" settings?

Hopki sent me a sample file and using his file and Skin I experience the same problem, once exported to a stand alone Desktop Application.
It just can't find or play the selected video unless played through a machine with PANO2VR or GGPKG installed?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Hi Ink8455,
Pinned and popup video did work but I think the last NW-JS project update broke it.
There is a bug report submitted on the 28/06/2016: Pinned video slowing down or stopping when used with the desktop App (NW-JS Project).
So it was working then with version 5.0.x.
I tested with 5.0.x and it will not show video anymore so it looks like they broke it.

Ill add it to the notes for our next meeting and see what the Dev's say.
Its not a Pano2VR bug but they may be able to do something.
Regards,
Hopki

Hi Ink8455,
As we have our package viewer this is something we would not pursue.
Ok it does not embed the pano but once installed you can open the package.

Hi Hopki/Ink

Project is driving me nuts:)
Clients dont want it on their intranet or internet and the guys I'm dealing with have no Admin rights on their machines, therefore they cant install the GGPkg viewer

I have almost the same issue as Ink with a standalone viewer on a USB Pen.
Using the .json packager off a USB it runs fine apart from not displaying video.(you can run it straight off the pen (no installation)

I was wondering can we do the same with the GGPKG Viewer, it seems to want to install to the computer, any way we can make it standalone off a usb pen?

I'm searching for older versions of the node_webkit, does anyone know what version it worked with?

If I find out first I'll pop a link in here.

Regards and Thanks

Hi guys
Thomas made a package Viewer that can play The panorama Output files without Admin
rights for Windows, you just drag the index file or the Output folder into the player Window
both players are in the zip file

Note:
the light version cannot play ggpkg files
only the panorama files

Hi Svendus,

Thanks for the input.I did manage to find a workaround though. The NWJS package viewer just wont run MP4 WMVs and other files that you need to buy licenses for.

The trick is to convert MP4 or avi to an mkv file using Theora as the codec. (Handbrake does this very well and its free)

It works locally, I'll just have to test on the clients machines

I'll have a look at Thomas's to see the difference..Many Thanks
