Tour for Brand-account

Hi Tony,

I connected P2VR to my google-account. The pano is shown as desired but is linked to my personal account. I have two "brand-accounts". I tried to upload the images to the brand-account but there the images are shown as in preview, not as 360°s. Is there a limitation in G+ as brand or does someone knows a walk-around? I would habe the tour linked to our brand G+ site.

Hi CBosch,

I just tried uploading some files to two of my "Brand Accounts" through the Pano2VR interface and didn't have any issues like the ones you mention. Did you upload the images to the brand account through Pano2VR or directly through G+? Here's a shot of a SV project connected to a Brand Account on G+

Image

In order to upload through Pano2VR to a brand account you must activate the brand account in the Pano2VR interface.

Hi Tony,

thanks for your answer. When I connect Pano2VR to google I get only the main account to select. There is no further option to select our brand account. Yesterday I searched for google if there are settings to change. Nothing found. For our Brand Account I log in with my personal account and then I can go to our Brand G+-site.

Hi Christian,

Ah, you need to connect Pano2VR to your Brand Accounts to be able to upload panoramas to them. I'm putting together a tutorial that explains how to set up the Brand Accounts and how to access them via Pano2VR. I'll post up here when it's done.

cheers,

Tony

Hi Tony,

very good tutorial. Till your step "d" I can follow.

After chosen my Brand-Account I get

When I went through several pages I find "settings & security". There is mentioned "for my Brand-Account is no password set" and a link for further information.

There I can't create a password, there I can read the difference between Brand-Account and others... :( Seems google has specific pages and permissions for each country?

And when I select "edit Account information" I am redirected to my My Business site...

Hi Christian,

Did you create the Branded Account or did someone else?

Hi Tony,

it is the same content. But you can "update password" where I have only the option to get blablabla about the Account. No way to make/update/change a password.

That was me. Think so :-) Years ago, G+ doesn't exists. I made a mybusiness page to be on the maps. Then years later, someone called me because we had to accounts - one for the hotel and one for the restaurant. But that wasn't allowed, because that can't exist in the mind of google, that two companies have the same name and the same adress physically. And hotel/restaurant wasn't a option to choose, we had to decide if we want to be a hotel or restaurant...

I got at the moment the information in the google-forum:

for a G+ - Account it isn't anymore possible to create a own login by setting a password. :(

Think you had a password and can now still update it but for me who hasn't used this option till today the door is closed. BUT this is in the forum and not a statement by google itself!

Okay, seems the user is right :-(

Solution:

1) installing the Google Street View App on iPad or iPhone using iTunes (I didn't found the App in the App-Store!!!).

2) in the App login with main google account.

3) select the photos for the pano, click the three points top right and select "transfer rights"

4) a email is sent to the email-adress for the main account to confirm the transfer of the rights

5) when confirmed, the panos are visible in google maps with your Brand Account and very small below your name (from main account of google) too.

Not 100% optimal, but at the moment the only way to publish panos if you didn't have activated password for your Brand Account in the past.

Hi Christian,

Thanks for the update. I've gone through the process of creating a new Brand Account and yes there is no option to add a password. They are only valid for older accounts that had one established in the past.

I'll update the tutorial to make this point clear.

cheers,

Tony
