Hello all,
I've published a ggpkg apno on my WordPress blog:

http://oliver-wendel.de/en/pano-stuttga ... e-evening/

I included a "Fullscreen" button in my skin and the pano opens in fullscreen mode when browsing on desktop or laptop pc/mac, It doesn't work on my tablet (iPad with Safari and Chrome) .
Normal view:
IMG_1154.PNG
IMG_1154.PNG (1.62 MiB) Viewed 8068 times
Fullscreen mode:
IMG_1153.PNG
IMG_1153.PNG (2.24 MiB) Viewed 8068 times
Even when I switch Chrome to desktop mode it won't help. In the plugin setting I entered 600px x 400px for the size (width of my blog posts). If I enter higher number it will not be displayed correctly any longer.

Any idea? Is my WP theme not fully repsonsive?

Hi Oli,

I'm not sure but I think I read something in the iOS-developer-reverences in xcode that full-screen is blocked by iOS to ensure if incoming calls can managed. In full-screen all other buttons etc. are invisible. But this have to be checked by ggnome. Yes, there are apps etc. to get the browser to full-screen but the browser remains "visible". In true fullscreen there is nothing visible from the browser.

Hallo Christian,

OK, if this is the case with the IOS devices as you described, then the only way would be to have a large in-browser pano like this:

http://oliver-wendel.de/pano/usatour/us ... tml#node14

This works flawless on the iPad. The downside is that I have the ggpkg file to embed the pano in a blogpost PLUS the regular package of html file, player, tiles etc., means I use up double the space on the server :(

Hi Oli,

if you have a "normal" html-version of the tour on your server, why did you not embed the tour in WP with iframe? I have some trouble with WP and till there is a solution I use iframe. If you need the code for the plugin - no problem only a few lines...

Christian,

no, it's the other way around: I would like to use the ggpkg files in the future only because it's seems handy and easy to handle through the plugin. On my panorama site I would then have the viewer instead of the thumbs to launch the panos:

http://oliver-wendel.de/en/portfolio/panorama/

Mabe there's a way to have the package open in a larger (responsive) popup or a lightbox?

But these two things bug me: Fullscreen/large mode and map on/off (see other thread).

Hi Oli,

I thought a bit about your "trouble". I'm not sure if I understood you well.

If I create a pano and correct in the html-file the container-size from 100% 100% to the desired 800px 600px and view it on a iOS-device I can use the fullscreen. In this case fullscreen means 100% of the browser-window.

but:

I don't know how you would change something in the html-file or the js-file in the ggpkg. You have to upload it and make the modifications afterwards. I found a way to "delete" in the skin.js if iOS is used the fullscreen-button. But you have to do it after creation of the ggpkg.

During all this I came for me to the following conclusion:

as I understood you well you would use the ggpkg only because it is more comfortable to upload. I can't follow it - I upload the complete folder to my server. Only one click as you. But I can easy make changes, even if I want to change today something concerning a pano uploaded in July last year. Using ggpkg you have to adapt all pages using the /uploads/2015/07-path... The plugin for the WP creating a shortcut for the iframe is done in seconds and uploaded as easy.

I unterstand, if the logicblock do not only offers "mobile = true" instead offers mobil, iOS, Android and (don't know if exists) a mobil-win OS to make more specific solutions would be a great feature. As long as this is not implemented (if there are even thoughts about it by gg) I see no really advantage in your way.

Hi Christian,

I stumbled over the WordPress plugin recently and like how I can embedd the pano in my blogposts like described above.
(sample: http://oliver-wendel.de/stuttgart-am-abend/ )

For one with a large monitor or to just have a quick view it might be fine with the small pano window embedded in the page. For the one who wants to enlarge there is the fullscreen button. After finding out (with the help of Hopki) how to use short codes to control the appearance of the pano (map/no map etc.), for me it seem convenient to use the ggpkg plugin.
Before that I used only thumbnails on my pano start page linked to the html file with the pano but I kind of like the idea to have a small interactive "preview":

http://oliver-wendel.de/portfolio/pano/

No I found out that -and you explained why- iOS devices will not allow fullscreen mode. Of course I can upload the whole folder with all files and link to the html file on iOS which (depending on the html template used) gives a large view of the panorama (inside the browser). This is what I did until today. The disadvantage is, as I tried to explain, that when using the ggpgk file AND the html file (with all related data) I use up double space on my web server.

You're right: Uploading the folder with the html file, tile etc. isn't a big deal via FTP. Your point about changing a pano end re-upload files doesn't apply to me, I've never changed a pano after publishing so far.

So back to my inital problem:
1. I would like to use the ggpkg files and the Plugin in WP
2. I'm looking for a solution to enlarge the pano on iOS devices without using the Pano2VR created html file

Regards

Hi Oli,

I can't check other mobile OS, I have only iOS-devices. Your "Schduuugäd wänns dungl' wird" will take full width of the center row if I tap the fullscreen icon. Keep my fingers crossed you find a solution. No easy way with iOS and WP. Maybe gg can help...

Hi Guys,
iOS does not recognise the fullscreen API so only expands the output in its window.
This is a limitation of iOS so you would need to provide a link to a fullscreen version.
However you can link to the package's HTML page and open it directly.
Example:

http://yourWPsite.com/wp-content/upload ... index.html

This will then open the GGPKG files.
In fact you could give the fullscreen button a go to URL action using the above.
Then add a java script close action in a button in the full screen version.
If using version 5 Just use the logic block to display the button if player width is above xxx px.

Then once closed would return the viewer back to where they were.
This is a URL from a GGPKG on my test Wordpress website: http://hopkimedia.co.uk/wp/wp-content/u ... index.html

Hi Hopki,

OK, I now see... I checked my server and found the GGPKG file PLUS a folder with the extracted version. I now can try to link to the index.html file in the folder.

Means using the GGPKG file will double the space used on the server...

I observed on other thing (a bug?): I loaded a couple GGPKG files up through the WP backend and deleted them later within the "Media" section. Although there are not listed under Media any longer, the GGPKG files still sit on the server. How to delete them properly (without using FTP)?

Hi Hopki,

I'm struggling with fullscreen options as well, I understand the go to URL action pointed at the html of the tour, but i'm confused when you say add a java script close action in a button in the full screen version.

Does that mean i'd need a separate skin for the fullscreen version with a button to close? If so, how would I make the skin switch just from clicking the go to URL button?

Thanks.

Hi Guys,
Firstly the JS close button
Add a close button graphic to the skin the add the action:
Source: Mouse Click
Action: Go To URL
URL: javascript:close();
Target:

Leave target blank.

For hiding and showing the close button, you would use a logic block.
Something like:
Fullscreen = false And
Player Width >= 700
Then visible = True.

So on a computer from the word press page you click fullscreen so the logic would be true for fullscreen so it wont show.
On a mobile device opening the link to the ggpkg's HTML page the page will be wider than 700px and will not be in fullscreen mode so the close button will show.
