Photographing objects too large for a turntable

I'm likely to be adding Object2VR to my software library for a client who manufactures machines the size of a refrigerator (and larger). Could someone point me to resources on how to capture an image sequence making such objects appear to rotate when it's impractical to use a turntable? Can anyone explain their workflow for doing such a shoot?

HI,
You can use a camera dolly and go around the object.
It would probably be better to have a tracked dolly, so like train tracks so you are assured of a circle.
But I guess if the floor is smooth a wheeled dolly will also be good.

Getting a large turntable is fairly inexpensive. I built a 48" (1.25m) table for under $700 and have used it to photograph refrigerators, ovens, couches, people, etc. I added a motor to it for another $150 or so but I rarely use it.
