Hi all,
Looking for a tutorial / Documentation specifically for using scaling windows using percentages in 5.1 beta.

Here’s an example: http://www.360imagery.co.uk/draft/tcp-sheff-pano2vr

Click on pulsing pink hotspot above girls’ head in second scene by showroom entrance. Pop up window appears with option to play 3 videos. At the moment I’ve created simple button graphics as placeholders, to be replaced with SVG files by client.
The videos are 16:9 ratio, and I need the video popup window to scale with the browser window to be mobile responsive.

To me, choosing the right percentage setting in for both position X & Y, and size width & height seems to be a bit “hit & miss” to get the right view. This example the parent folder is set at 10% X & Y and 80% for width & height with the 3 video elements and rectangle background, as children, to 12.5% X & Y.

What I can’t figure out is how to set the buttons positioning “left” for video 1 button, “centre” for video 2 button and “right” for video 3 button. I don’t have this option in the anchor dialogue box under position settings. At the moment, when you change the scale of the browser window, the 3 buttons just seem to float about with no obvious, discernible anchoring…..

Here’s the skin: http://www.360imagery.co.uk/temp/TCP_sh ... ample.ggsk

Any ideas – or documentation – to help me understand the settings behind percentages…..?

Hi Martin,

thanks - although they still look all over the place....

Now I've swapped out 2 of those 3 buttons for SVG files (client hasn't yet supplied the first button), how do I make these 3 SVG buttons scale in relation to / relative to the parent background....?

is there any documentation that explains the relationship between percentage & pixel positioning....

It's almost as if you've "guessed" the pixel / percent figures below....(which I know you haven't)......!!

I'll prob. give you a ring tomorrow, if you're about?

Hi Stu,
The easiest way is to position your parent element then place the child elements where they should be.
Then change all from pixel to percentage, see attached project.
As you change the size of the browser window so the elements will change position and size.

The problem is when elements are set to percentage they can not keep aspect ratio so this is not the best way to deal with making responsive skins.
Your still better off making either making different sized elements that have fixed sizes that show and hide depending on screen width.
Or have a fixed sized element but then use width to change scale, this will keep aspect ratio.

Hopki
