Hi.

Has anyone experienced errors viewing html5 panos on last Google Chrome update for Android tablet?
I say 37.0.2062.117 Chrome version.
I see gray cube faces left or right when I touch the device to move the pano. Tested on other Android tablet, and the same problem appears. With Firefox it's ok. Only with tablet. With smartphone or pc/laptop it's ok too. With prior versions of Chrome was all ok.

Project page: http://hotelpuertojuanmontiel.tuimagenweb.eu/

Of course I tested before asking a lot of things, like entering without that iframe, or used a windowed version of pano, changing resolution, using multiresolution, starting project from 0, but nothing of this has worked.

When you let auto rotating the pano for a while, gray cube faces disappears, and all seem to be ok, but when you touch the screen again the problem restarts.

Any idea?
Thanks in advance.

We use Samsung GS4 with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and the same version of Chrome you are using.

You did not mention your tablet manufacturer, model, and available ram, internet connection speed or Android operating system version.
Your hotel website loads fast on our GS4 Android 4.4.2 (we are on a 12 mbps internet connection and have 16 mb internal ram). No gray scale side tiles.

Our test site page "7th Street Bridge" with 3 panoramas was built with Pano2vr for html5.

On initial load... the adjacent images are grey scale while downloading.. and do turn color after 1/2 second. How fast they turn to color (full download) depends on cube face size, available device ram and connection speed.

If you get only the grey scale... and no color its probably because your multi res cube face size are too large and exceed the amount available device ram. OR maybe your device connection speed is slow for the browser you are using. Chrome version you are using is HTML5 content aware. So it apparently is taking the html5 version content download.

Constructive comments about site and panorama skin toolbar size.

On a 5" screen your left side panorama menu is written too small to be able to touch on the screen. The pano skin toolbuttons are too close together and not large enough to finger touch with out touching the button to left and right side (fat finger affect)

Hi.
Thank you for the fast answer and for your constructive comments.
Yes, I know, in smartphones runs ok, as I mentioned above, but not in tablets (10")
I'm not talkimg about 'gray scale' tiles but about grey solid block color, as you can see in attachments.
My device is a BQ Edison-2 Quad Core with 2 Gb RAM and 32 Gb internal memory, 10'1" screen. Android 4.2.2.
As I mentioned above too, I do not think there are performance problems with my hardware, because It was all ok with prior versions of Chrome, and with Mozilla Firefox the panorama runs ok today.
Remember is an issue that is only appearing in Android tablets; in phones, pc, laptop, are working ok.

Sorry for my bad English!

Thanks again.

Cube faces of 1200X1200 pixels can be too large for some devices to display. It worked correctly on my Asus Transformer tablet with 1GB memory running same version of Chrome. Even when I zoom out and can see four different faces at the same time.
Try freeing up some memory and launching Chrome again. Your 2GB of memory should be more than plenty.
Better is to change to multiresolution. Even tile size of 600 and levels of 1200 and 600 would put a lot less stress on limited devices.

Hi.

No, my device has no performance problems, any way it is tested on a Samsung Galaxy Note and the problem appears too.
I try to record a video soon so it explains itself.

Thank you and regards,
M.

Hi,

Just checked it on my Nexus7 in the latest Chrome and all the panos load quickly and look great, no issues either inpage or full screen.
