Hi, I gave up my idea of the "stacked" pans, and instead used the "synchronizing panorama's" script found on the GG blog here:http://ggnome.com/wiki/Synchronizing_Panoramas

Here is my result which seems to work pretty well as long as you keep the cursor off that right hand side pano. Doing that seems to send that pano into fits. And you can only really get a smooth scroll by using the cursor on the left side pano.

Does anyone know how to get the more consistently smooth scrolling on side by side synchronized panos such as what Erik Leeman shows here?:

I noticed there were questions about this earlier, but no answers. I would sure appreciate any help! :D

Thanks,

Using Win 8.1 and Chrome Desktop Version 36.0.1985.143 m

This are just observations and guessing:

cift.pair.
Noticed that there is a control bar < > + - on the right panel view. Maybe this right panel controller is causing what looks like control bar confusion. The left and right controller bar behaviors are not playing nice. The left talks and the right refuses to listen. The left side controller bar is sending position x,y position data to the player and the right side controller also is sending x,y position information... and there is a sync'd data conflict.

Mouse over left side panel... and full 360 rotation is smooth moving right and left as well as rotation being sync'd with the right side panel.
Mouse over right side panel and rotation is minimal, meaning it will only rotate a few degrees left or right. The rotation movement is being restricted to a few degrees both using the mouse and the < and > arrows on the control bar. The left panel does not rotated.

IF the left panel is designed to be the 'Control' panel, then maybe replace the right side panel controller bar with a fixed position png24 file type graphic "Logo" ie.. fill the void with a picture and remove the controller bar data interface.

Flash pair.
While not full screen, neither left or right have visible control bars. Rotation is sync'd and smooth on both left and right panels

Hi Jim, Yes, this is all that I'm noticing as well. Maybe I should just take that controller off of that right hand pan - and maybe off both and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for your thoughts!

pls keep us posted on progress as this becomes certainly more important in the future when using on VT devices like occulus.

thx

Hummm,
I think its your project cube face size.
Loads real slow for me, try reduce the cube face size or use multi resolution.
Trying to rotate two large Flash outputs together will cause this.

Hi all, Thanks for your ideas. I took the controller skin off both pans, reduced the cube face size down to 1600 pixels and am still have the same problem with that right hand side pan. Actually, the scrolling isn't all that bad, even with the larger file sized ones, as long as you are scrolling on that left pan to do the controlling. The right hand pan still stutters and gets stuck.

You can view the reduced, no controller pans at that same URL. http://cift.pair.com/shasta/ICL/Owyhee/ ... eTest.html

Any one have any idea how Erik Leeman was able to get such a smooth output? I would also like to keep the pans as high res as possible, even if they do take a little longer to load.

Thanks,
kt

I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this same thing with the same code and getting a better result than I am?
