I'm trying to keep up with all the best screen resolution / output settings for all the various devices.

To be honest, it seems a little confusing and impossible to test unless you own or have access to multiple devices.

Is it not possible to simplify everything and either have a table that's updated regularly by you clever Garden Gnome administrators ?

Or

... better still, can the best settings just be embedded into Pano2VR latest version so they are automatically set as defaults ?

This would all seem to make sense and i don't think i've missed anything (altho' i have only skimmed through the latest posts).

Dear Pano2VR user and dear ggn team:

A simple question:

Is there any - if yes what - senseful combination of:
New "multiresolution in html5" in combination with the settings in the "mobile" (resolution) tab?

Are there still the (known) settings to prefer - and are those still really necessary (in "mobile")
or
can those be "replaced" (somehow) by using the new multiresolution in html5 (Pano 4.5 beta) ?

If multiresolution could "replace" the "mobile" settings - what settings should we use in mr, to have an optimized result with most mobile devices??

Thanks again !!

I am interested in the same thing, certainly something is wrong uploading 300+ Mb for 8 panos and some guide for that or even software defaults will be great, thank you!

Hi,
HTML5 Multi resolution will be the better way to go as far as displaying on mobile devices.
You will need to make sure you have levels as low as 416px for the older mobile devices.

I started today with a new Internet project - http://www.astanacapital.com/index.php? ... =portfolio
Features: full RWD, full HTML5, a complete rejection of Flash
It seems it works fine, maybe running "tight" for iPad 2/iPhone 2 and some older Android device ... but relatively well for other mobile and desktop concepts

My settings:
SZ 1440px / CF 1440px
SZ 1138px / CF 960px
SZ 960px / CF 700px
SZ 480px / CF 416px

primary tiles 2000px

I really like the way your site works on my laptop and on my phone (Mac and Android). Great work.

I have loads of questions but I think this thread is not the right place, I will settle for 1 question. =)

I see that the Controll menu is not precent on my mobilephone but it is on my laptop.
How and where do you do this distinction to hide or show skin element? Is it the screen size some how or is it something else?

My goal is to find a workflow that takes me from my stiched panos to the web. A workflow that would work on many different kind of objects and that can be viewed on many (all?) different kind of screens, browsers, devices.

As I said, great work.

@PopUnoNkoK

Workflow is constantly changing. I gradually migrate from Mobile to Multires.
Current settings on the Multiresolution Tab - 512/ 1024/ 1536/ 2048/ 2560
example - http://almatycity.com/dentlux_astana/index.html
*I think that these settings in the near future will not change

Hi,
Link fixed in the forum post.
You could of also gone to the Pano2VR documentation page, then clicked, Knowledge base, HTML5 Cube Face Size for Apple Devices.
Your better knowing where to find the documentation as many of the forum questions could be answered just by looking there.

The Mobile Tab:
Set mobile screen sizes are almost a thing of the past as we will eventually remove the tab.
With the introduction of HTML5 multi resolution you can give your viewer a much better experience.
The Mobile tab will serve up a single resolution depending on screen resolution, so for low resolution screen when zooming it can look awful.

The same screen with multi resolution will let you zoom in and load higher quality tiles.

Suggest you use only HTML5 and Multiresolution . Should get better results.

Hi,
Just to second what Dave says, don't use the mobile tab use multi resolution, also its one or the other not both.
The mobile tab was introduced when HTML5 had its first outing and was a way of serving up smaller files to mobile devices.
This has the disadvantage of fixed resolution, where multi resolution serves up lower resolution but then when you zoom can serve up higher resolution tiles only for the area being viewed and not the complete image so not crashing the mobile browser.
