Hi to all

Just a few lines to see if the following idea, could be made inside Object2VR.

in the following picture of an example by Ggnome, no color car change in Dawn environment, always is blue. Could be change the car color also, when you change environment ??

What I mean is different backgrounds with different view states

*change to daytime environment and change car colors
*change to Dawn environment and change car colors
*change to night environment and change car colors
*change to city environment and change car colors (and go on ....)

Thanks in advance for your help and best regards

Hi,
This is in the bug tracker as a feature request to shoot the object as a png with transparent background then to be able to set a custom background.
This is a way off at the moment but is on the to do list.

Thanks for the answer.

So if you try to do by alpha transparent PNG, the PNG file loses alpha and turns black when loads into light table?
is that correct? (happens when I try this way).

if so, and is on the to do list, will be a great feature !!

(is any work around to do this, maybe using the skin editor?)

Thanks in advance for your help

What PNG flavor ? .png 8bit or .png 24bit ? PNG type 24bit has the transparent background.

Im trying with PNG 16 bits with transparent background and gives me in the final output when superimposes using the view state feature black background...

PNG 16/32 bits with transparent backgrounds are working in the final output??

let's say , the car in a transparent png background superimpose into different backgrounds in the final output? that will work?

Thanks

Make sure you change the file extension in Object2VR, default is jpg, manually change to png.
This is found under the settings tab.

Thanks for the answer, but I still haven't managed to do.

I attached in this reply, a simple. o2vr file example,
a png foreground Ball (transparent background), with different colors and different backgrounds.
if you try to change the color in the ball in the same background, goes crazy and does not work as it should.( made even with the latest 3.0beta4).

why this happens?, I do something wrong?

\test with Safari/Firefox/Chroma/Opera

Best regards

Could yo have a look Hopki

(do not really know the proper steps to zip the project itself, I hope this one is ok).

Thanks in advance for your help and best regards

Hi,
Please find project attached.
You also need to deselect the background found under HTML5 => Settings and under the heading Display.

Thanks for the quick answer Hopki.

I don't know if I explained the question correctly,
what I want to know is if you can change the color of the balls keeping the same background,

I mean, background city night ; ball in green, red and blue with the same background city night behind,
background city daytime ; ball in green, red and blue with the same background city daytime behind, and so on

because at the moment (in the alpha example file attached), when you try to change the color between the balls your lose the background,

is any way to keep the same background behind,(view state), when you're changing the color of the balls, (overlay another view state with transparency)
or I am doing something wrong ?. Because is not working for me. the background of the city disappears.

Thank you very much for your help

Regards

Hi,
Not within Object2VR as I have already replied:

The project shows the png with transparency, if you changed the background in the HTML page then you would see this background.
But you can not change background with Object2VR just yet.

If you want to do this now then you will need to make a set of images for each background.
Example 3 x day background images one for each coloured ball.
Then 3 x night background images one for each coloured ball.

This means your have lots of input images, can be don't and as long as each image is not to large in file size then ok.
But of course being able to select a custom image in Object2VR would be much smarter way to do this.

Hopki
